Measuring more than three metres tall and cast in glowing golden bronze, Ancient Feelings depicts a fictional woman constructed from observations of daily life, 3D scans and sourced images. Located outside of the MCA on Tallawoladah Lawn, the sculpture is both majestic and deeply human, reflecting Price’s commitment to elevating everyday people through public monuments.

This commanding new work asks us to consider who is typically depicted by statues, and why some stories are valued over others, continuing Price’s engagement with ideas of power and representation in public space. Ancient Feelings is the artist’s first major public sculpture in Australia, and an invitation to reflect on the universal emotions and experiences that connect us all.
